Must admit I was dubious about online ordering, however ordering online was simple, the conversion rate was the best I could find, and delivery was as promised only 99p for a Saturday delivery, Brilliant! and my mind was also put at rest to receive the confirmation email that order was despatchedand my order was on its way.
As a first time user of this service which I also note covers currencies I would normally not get easily such as ISK, was very happy that the notes were a variety of denominations as well.

The operative who took my telephone call was very polite taking my details promising to call me back in 5 minutes with an update. This she did advising me of the delay. Hi, After experiencing a shockingly poor level of service from a very large department store when my wife was trying to buy a handbag recently, I felt I had to write a comment on the very opposite service received from ICE. I ordered my currency for our forthcoming holiday yesterday and I have it in my possession just 24 hours later! I know most companies strive for quick service, but most fail. I was also pleased to receive the confirmation phone call after I made my order to advise me the money was on its way. Found you via Martin's Money Tips. You offered the second highest rate on the day but there were restrictions on the payment methods of the highest rate provider so I chose you. Ordered on Friday evening knowing that it would not be dealt with until Monday morning. The cash arrived at 0930 Tuesday. A great rate and superb service - I will be back!!.

As a first time user of ICE plc I had to let you know what I thought of the service I received, following the email you sent me Monday morning letting me know that you had sent my denomination size request on to the relevant department, I received the conformation email later the same day letting me know that delivery would be on the Tuesday, As stated delivery was made at 10:15 on Tuesday (today) with the exact request for denomination size. Excellence service, the customer care and speed of service is first class, the only hiccup I had was with my bank not letting me pay with my Debit card, but again you had that covered by letting me do a money transfer, once again well done 10 out of 10.

Excellent site. Even a list of charges that different Debit card providers would make for the transaction popped up during the payment process. Just when you need it .I thought they were all free. Best rates and very easy site to use. This is my second order from ICE.

Being a first time user of ICE, I must say how very impressive your level of service is. My currency ordered yesterday arrived at 10.45am this morning (Saturday), when you had promised delivery on Monday.
As for your comments on post office service, having just had a coversation with my postman, he is completely aware of the level of service you demand. Not bad for a sleepy little backwater in rural Norfolk.

I ordered currency yesterday, transferring the money from my bank. I dropped a note to customer service today to see when I could expect the currency. My query was handled rapidly and professionally by Louise, she knew that my bank was notable poor at transferring money so called me directly to explain the delay and to suggest solutions to ensure I have currency for when I travel on business next week.
I was surprised by the level of high service I received and would have pleasure in recommending your company in the future.

On returning from holiday after using your very efficient service as indicated below I was not at all happy that you have authorised a further £4.50 from my bank account without my knowledge and after you told me in writing below that £501.16 was the Grand Total and Final bill, not £501.16 + £4.50!
I would like someone to contact me explaining that this is a mistake and that the £4.50 will be returned to my account, as I have not at any time authorised you to take it.

The charge you have incurred is from your bank and not ourselves. It is in the terms and conditions, the frequently asked questions and it is also stated on the payment page where you input your card details that:
"Please note if paying by credit card or debit card, transactions for the purchase of foreign currency and/or traveller's cheques may be treated as cash advances by your card issuer, for which an additional charge may be levied. This is not a charge made by ICE currency and traveller's cheques, it is out of our control and therefore we have no liability for these charges."

Interesting that in the wake of Crown Currency's demise you have now decided to publish accounts, etc - shame you didn't do this before because I would have used you rather than lose a substantial amount of money with Crown?
If I buy currency from ICE, and it subsequently goes into administration before I receive my foreign currency - like Crown Currency has, what guarantees are there that I get my money back? This is regardless of you capitalisation & profitability, as I know of a number of large profitable companies that have gone bust - I'm interested to know whether the money is protected through an FSA backed scheme, or similar. As with Crown, they were registered but that provided no guarantee!

Thank you for your email.
International Currency Exchange (ICE) is a Plc and as such we have to publish our accounts. Our Annual accounts can be found on our website and have always been there for customers to view. They date back to 2003 and you can view them by visiting http://www.iceplc.com/aboutus/index.html.
We operate in a completely different way to Crown Currency Exchange (CCE), with them you buy currency in advance and they forecast the rates. They actually had no way of knowing what the rates would be in a few months time.
We take orders from customer using the interbank rate of the day to set our rates and provided the order is place Monday - Friday before 3pm it will be dispatched the same day it is placed.
In no way do we gamble with peoples money like CCE did, we take payment for a product that we already have in stock and we have already paid our suppliers for and then send it our to the customer.
We are regulated by HM Revenue and Customs and not the FSA, therefore we are unable to offer any protection, however you can pay via credit/debit card and you would then be covered by whatever protection your bank offer.

I recently purchased currency using my new Visa card as issued by Royal Bank of Scotland and much to my surprise was charged a £4.50 handling fee. Is this normal practice?
Using my old Maestro card did not attract a fee. So can I assume the fee is imposed by Visa?

RBS offer a free same day transfer for amounts up to £10,000.
You need to initiate the transfer. When you place the order we will give you our bank detail, you then need to got to your bank either through internet banking, telephone banking or in branch and create the transfer. Once we receive the funds we will dispatch the order.
