Travel in Latvia gets easier with new foreign exchange bureau
International Currency Exchange (ICE) opens new bureau in Riga
(July 2007)
ICE is making traveling in and around Eastern Europe easier than ever with the opening of a foreign exchange bureau in the capital city of Latvia, Riga.
Situated to the east of the Baltic Sea and with many architectural sites preserved from the 15 th Century, the Old Town of Riga is full of historical beauty and is becoming a very popular tourist resort. It is also developing as a strong business centre for the Baltic region as a whole. At the new ICE bureau, located at Riga International Airport, visitors will be able to exchange up to 17 currencies for the local currency, the Lat. Local residents will also be able to change their currency in preparation for trips abroad.
The opening of the Riga bureau illustrates ICE's continued commitment to providing travellers – business and leisure – with access to foreign exchange at competitive rates. “As both business and leisure travel develops in Eastern Europe, we aim to open more bureau to provide travellers with a greater level of choice – whether they are in-bound or out-bound” confirmed Mike Smith, Group Director Marketing and Strategy, ICE.
