Leading foreign currency provider, International Currency Exchange (ICE), has donated the gross profits from all its Chinese operations for trading on Monday 19th May to the Red Cross in support of relief efforts in China. This follows the devastating earthquake last week. In addition, ICE staff members have given up to 25% of their monthly wages in May towards the relief fund.

"We have a relatively small network in China but we have a strong affinity with the communities affected by the earthquake and felt very strongly that we wanted to help the relief efforts", confirmed Mike Smith, Director, ICE. The death toll in China has risen to over 50,000 with nearly 300,000 injured by the worst earthquake to hit the country in 30 years. Reports suggest that 80% of buildings in the Sichuan Wenchuan region were destroyed, leaving 5 million homeless.

"With so many homeless and injured, the Red Cross support is more important than ever and we wanted to play our part to help. We are hoping that our donation will help the people that need it most at this very difficult time."
