With reports that travellers are carrying an average of £209 cash when going abroad due to fear of their card being stolen or cloned*, ICE (International Currency Exchange) is advising holidaymakers that there is a safer alternative than cash. The ICE Travellers Cashcard is a good as cash but can't be stolen or cloned like conventional credit cards.
Because the prepaid card is PIN protected and limited to the balance on the card, ICE's Travellers Cashcard offers holidaymakers greater protection from fraud and theft and is also a safer way of carrying their travel money rather than travelling with cash on them.
Accepted at over 25 million ATMs, shops and restaurants in over 120 countries worldwide, the ICE cashcard carries the MasterCard brand and will be accepted wherever travellers see the logo displayed. The card can be preloaded with the currency of the traveller's choice (Sterling, Euro or US Dollar), so there's no need to worry about credit card charges and exchange rates, and it can be topped up online if need be. Customers pay the current exchange rate throughout their trip with ICE's Travellers Cashcard, making it easier to budget whilst on holiday.
"We understand the hassle associated with making sure your money is safe while abroad" continued Andrew Hamilton. "Unlike a credit card the Travellers Cashcard can only be used up to the funds on it and unlike a bank debit card it won't cause a lot of problems with your current account if the details are stolen. Our prepaid card provides travellers with a system that is secure and easy to use"
